Membership Information

$150 General Membership:
Benefits for all membership categories include reduced rent, voting rights at meetings of the membership and annual subscription to the Newsletter.

$250 General Family Membership:
Includes all immediate family members and children up to the age of 18 with the same benefits as a General Membership.
     
$175 Single Income Family Membership:
Benefits are the same as the General Family Membership, for families for which there is only one income.

$75 Low Income General Membership:
For those with low incomes.

"Low Income" is understood by the Dharma Centre as income within the preceeding 12 months falling below the pre-tax Low Income Cutoff (LICO) level as determined by Statistics Canada. See pg. 23: http://www.statcan.ca/english/research/75F0002MIE/75F0002MIE2006004.pdf This amount in Canadian dollars for 2006 is as follows, for families of:
1 person: $20,800
2 people: $25,900
3 people: $31,800
4 people: $38,600

The following 3 categories of membership reflect an extra offering of support for the Dharma Centre and its aims.

$420   Contributing Member:
Available all year; includes 6 days free accommodation. (see Of Note below)
A portion of this fee will be eligible for a charitable donation tax receipt.

$520   Contributing Family Member:
Same benefits as Contributing Membership, shared amongst family members.

$2500   Founding Member:
Includes General Membership plus one month free accommodation. A charitable donation tax receipt will be issued for a $1300 portion of this membership.

Of Note:
  • Reduced membership rates after September 1st: $80 General Membership, $150 Family Membership (Policy to be revised shortly)
  • The free accommodation discount offered for some membership categories includes neither food, centre operations fee, nor, of course, dana - and must be used within the membership year.

    Membership Discounts

    The Dharma Centre of Canada is offering a special discount to those members who encourage friends to purchase new DCC memberships. We also encourage you to sign up for monthly, quarterly, or annual automatic membership renewal via electronic funds transfer (EFT) through your bank account. This enables us to forecast and manage cash flow more easily, and saves on administrative costs.

    1. New, Renewing, & Lapsed Members: Pay a year's membership in full via ETF and your membership starts with your first payment, running to the end of the membership year.

    2. Existing Members: For every paid-up new member that you sponsor in a given membership year you will receive the following discounts off your current membership fee:
      1 new member = 25% off
      2 new members = 50% off
      3 new members = 75% off
      4 new members = free membership
