Timeless Presence

I have been asked to write a few words on Naymgal Rinpoche and some of my memories.
What to say ? How do you describe a Being who was so outside the realm of what we normally encounter ?
One of my greatest memories of Namgyal Rinpoche was his presence.
The experience of being in Rinpoche’s presence was visceral. I experienced incredible joy in his presence, earth shaking fear, mind numbing confusion, unshakeable clarity and a host of other states. The experiences were something you couldn't hide from, they were in you. Just like the feeling with Rinpoche you couldn't, for long any way, hide from him.
His presence activated a gateway that led to a deep exploration of being. He knew you. He knew where you were at and what you needed to keep moving forward. Even though it could be frightening I always felt he had my deepest interest at heart and was always there when I needed him.
The other thing about his presence is that it was and is completely outside of time. It is still very present. Connecting with it is to connect with the Dharma on the deepest of levels.
What a gift in my life and in countless others.
