Dharma Centre of Canada COVID policy – July, 2023

In keeping with the recent changes in government regulations and guidelines concerning COVID 19 prevention in congregate living settings, the Dharma Centre Board of Directors has dropped the policy requiring proof of vaccination and a negative COVID test for visitors to the property. Masking is no longer required, although any individual, including staff members, who wishes to mask is encouraged to do so.

If Individuals who are planning to come to the Dharma Centre experience symptom onset and/or a positive COVID test, the visit should be postponed for 10 days. If symptom onset occurs after arrival at the DCC, the visitor should immediately take steps to mask and self-isolate in consultation with the Retreat Coordinator.

The Dharma Centre will continue to make both masks and COVID test kits available at the reception area. We continue to encourage good hand hygiene.

In the event of a COVID outbreak, the DCC will follow guidance from the Public Health Department regarding reinstatement of specific protocols.

At risk individuals

Many of the long-term DCC members are in at-risk groups for COVID. We encourage those individuals to mask and maintain physical distance while on the property. If desired, the Retreat Co-ordinator will make a general announcement about maintaining physical distance from anyone wearing a mask. Please consult with the Retreat Co-ordinator before arrival about the possibility to taking meals to a separated eating area.
