Call for Board Nominations
The Dharma Centre of Canada is asking members to submit nominations for potential Board Members. At the AGM on Dec. 5, 2021, eight positions on our nine-member Board of Directors will become vacant.
Three of these vacancies come from the resignation/retirement of board members who have fulfilled their maximum five-year term: (Shelane Donaghue, Steven Gellman, and Chris Von Baeyer).
The two-year terms of three of the 7 current and active board members (Monique Truax, Christine Wihak, David Berry) are ending. These three board members need to be formally re-nominated for re-election.
Eva Gohl, who is currently in the middle of a 2-year term has stated that she will resign from the Board, coincident with the AGM, thus creating another vacancy.
The last position, previously held by John Monroe, is also vacant.
All nominations are welcome.
Now is the time to make your voice heard. Please make sure your membership and the person you are nominating has a current and up-to-date membership. If you are interested in being on the Board, want to serve on a Dharma Centre committee, or have any questions about the AGM and/or what being on the Board entails, please contact the current DCC Board President at retreats@dharmacentre.org. Put Attention President in the subject line. To allow time for processing, the cut-off date for membership renewal or purchase is Nov. 21, 2021.
A member of the DCC Board will also be in touch soon with those people who previously submitted a nomination package (in May 2021) to see if they are still willing to have their names go forward.
If you want to nominate someone, then please send an email with the member’s name, your name and another member’s name (to second your nomination) to the President at the above email address. Please make sure the person you are nominating agrees with their nomination to the Board.
This year we’re planning to communicate a list of Board nominations to DCC Voting Members ahead of time so people will have an idea of who is running. Last-minute nominations to the Board will still be welcome on the day of the AGM.
Please note: After (within a week or two) the new members are elected at the AGM, this newly elected Board will meet together to vote on the different Offices, i.e. President, Vice President, Treasurer, Chair Person, Secretary.
