The Dharma Centre is situated on 400 acres of beautiful boreal forest. It’s 12 buildings only occupy a small fraction of this large acreage, so much of the land is completely untouched and home to much wildlife.

The property includes wetlands, lakes, ponds, streams and lots of forest.

Numerous hiking trails traverse the property and there is a main road that runs from the front to the back of the property.   Access to Union Lake can be gained from here using our canoe or kayak for those experienced enough to use them safely.

Monuments on the Property

The Dharma Centre land has had the good fortune to be blessed by many Masters including Sayadaw U Thila Wunta, His Holiness the 16th Gyalwa Karmapa and the DCC founder Namgyal Rinpoche.

The construction of sacred monuments on the property began with the first Tibetan Stupa in the Americas (1974), a Burmese pagoda (1983) and statue of the Buddha (2001).
