In Spring there is snow deep in the forest until around mid April. The grounds tend to be icy or muddy, so be prepared as our weather is usually different from Toronto or anywhere south of us. There is often quite a lot of black fly and mosquito activity, as well.

From July through mid-August the weather can be quite hot. Mid-August through September, the nights can get cool. There is a mosquito and deer fly activity between late June and mid-August, particularly at dusk.

AUTUMN

In Autumn the days and nights can be quite cool and sometimes we may get some light snow as early as late October.

  • Cool weather clothing, layers are recommended

  • Winter coat

  • Rain gear

  • Warm, waterproof footwear

  • Toque, warm hat

  • Flashlight and extra batteries

  • Alarm Clock


WINTER

In Winter the weather can be quite cold and snow can get very deep. The remote cabins are inaccessible, however the temple and hermitage pathways are kept cleared regularly, for winter retreat groups. The solo cabins close to the main building are accessible year round.
