Spring 2021
Merry spring one and all! We are writing this during an unusually warm period in Southern Ontario —trees and plants are budding weeks earlier than usual in this 'summer in spring' experience. It is lovely but it is also worrisome. Climate change. Yet another stay-at-home Covid month. So grateful for Dharma teachings and all the various ways in which they are able to reach us!
Our spring 2021 Dharma Centre Newsletter contains a collage of memories from the 70s from Angelica (and Wesley) Knapp. We also look at how the first 12 months of Covid has shifted how we teach and use our Dharma spaces. We interviewed Karen and Lisa, creators of the Virtual Dharma Temple and Jack Connelly shares with us his learnings around teaching in the Time of Covid. Travis offers a short reminder to watch the DCC Renewal Project, and Chris von Baeyer, a board member for the past 4 years, talks about the DCC and his view of the property and the board. Winter solo retreatants share some of their experiences being on property over the winter and despite Covid’s restrictions, we preview some of our spring program.
As we move forward this year, we hope to include more stories about the DCC in the 70s and the 80s. If you have a story you’d like to share — please get in touch!
Stay safe. Stay well.
