Introducing the DCC Temple Project
Greetings to the Community of The Dharma Center of Canada,
The Dharma Centre’s Temple has been the spiritual home for many, serving as an amazing and historic container for many of us on our paths of awakening. Since the late 60s, the Temple has hosted transformational teachings and benefitted countless beings.
As you may know, the DCC is going through a renewal process. Currently, a project is underway regarding the Temple. The goal is to create/re-create a sustainable gathering space that can continue to host teachings for at least another 50 years—a space that is fully accessible, both in-person and virtually.
The Board of Directors, and others involved in the management of the Temple Project, are committed to keeping our community well-informed and engaged about this exciting venture.
In the coming weeks, we will release a series of communications to share:
What has been done so far.
Who is involved and who is making decisions.
Next steps.
Timeline for the project.
Answers to common questions.
Because there is a lot to share, we plan to spread this information across multiple community updates. Like eating a big meal, it is nice to enjoy it on multiple plates with time to digest between servings.
There will be 3-4 sizable updates over the next couple months. The updates will start from the beginning of the project (officially October 2020) and progress to present day. Each update will include a 1-2 page progress/information summary followed by appendices if/when appropriate.
Each Community Update will be distributed via the same email address from which you are receiving this email (Info@DharmaCentre.org). All the Community Updates will be stored on the DCC website under a new page titled “Temple Project”. Each time a Community Update is released, we will post a notification on the official Dharma Centre Facebook page.
If you know someone who wants to be added to this email distribution list, they can email Info@DharmaCentre.org. To ensure emails from this address do not go into your spam folder, please save this email address into your contacts.
Our aspiration is that these communications help unify our community around the common goal of having a sustainable, fully accessible Temple for at least the next 50 years. A space that can be attended both in-person and virtually, and where we as a community continue to support the rapid awakening of all beings.
