Tryg Schonning is an experienced practitioner/yogin who explores and is open to all schools of Buddhism, science and life… just like his root teacher, the Venerable Namgyal Rinpoche. Tryg teaches Tantra, Tarot and many views into Buddhism and is a dedicated Dzogchen practitioner; he has honed a relentless determination to uncover, research, synthesize, discover and share with others teachings from around the world. He skillfully weaves these new learnings he unearths with all manner of dharma and current worldly teaching. He cares deeply for the planet and humankind’s future. He offers his knowledge and experience with great generosity, joy, kindness, clarity, a sense of humour and a curiosity about everything to anyone who studies with him. Along with a vast store of knowledge accumulated over the past 40+ years of study, exploration and practice, he continues to study with Tibetan, Bön and Western masters of esoteric and exoteric knowledge.
Trudy Gold has had the great good fortune to live with Tryg for many years… in the late 1980s he opened up for her the marvellous, boundary-less vast open world of Buddhadharma—along with an introduction to the teachings of Namgyal Rinpoche. Together they raised 3 kids and are now unconditionally loving and enjoying their 2 grandsons. Practicing, studying, retreating, reading, editing and doing her best to Do The Work (and walk the walk) has been her way of living for many years. She’s had the privilege of studying with Namgyal Rinpoche and also studied/studies with many other gifted, kind, and generous Teachers of Dharmas – both Western and Eastern – for over 30 years. Trudy brings a worldly, practical, loving and grounded view into every aspect of her life, and balances Tryg’s wildly imaginative flights of inquiry with practical application. She was on the DCC board of directors from 2004-2007 and has co-edited the DC newsletter; she worked for years in high tech as a writer and editor. She volunteers in hospice and supports community through sickness, old age and death, as well as assisting people with dementia & their families.
Together Tryg and Trudy teach in a circle where everyone is encouraged to participate and express their views openly. They share Dharma learnings and teachings in an eclectic fashion, with the ever-present wish to support and encourage the unfolding and awakening of all beings.
