Life Journeys in the Dharma, East and West (And -- Your Life Journey in the Dharma)
Part 1 Retreat July 1 – 3, Part 2 Workshop July 3 - 5
An experiential retreat/workshop to benefit The Children of Tibet Charitable Trust Foundation and the Dharma Centre Renewal Fund with Achi Tsepal and David Berry The weekend will feature Dharma talks, stories from lives in the Dharma, practices and time for quiet meditation. --- all to support your life journey and all of our life journeys in the Dharma. The sacred practices shared are ancient means to enhance our capacities for transcendence and awakening.
Achi & David, friends for over 30 years, were in Tibet together several times and built housing in Achi’s family’s compound by the Drikung Kagyu Monastery which now serves as a school for nomad children.
Achi will speak of his family’s escape from Tibet and how life in the Dharma led him to be personal translator for HH the 16th Karmapa for 7 years, translating with Prime Ministers, Presidents and the Pope. They visited the Dharma Centre in 1974 and 1977 at Rinpoche’s invitation. After moving to the U.S. he has helped organizations working with the Tibetan diaspora, and launched The Children of Tibet Charitable Trust Foundation to supports children inside Tibet. Achi will share his own core practice: Green Tara.
David met Namgyal Rinpoche in 1971, studied and traveled with him and was ordained by him in 2003. David shares Dharma to varied environments including Academies of Science, Benedictine Monasteries and the Prayer Vigil for the Earth, an event he co-founded in Washington DC. He teaches in N. & S. America, Europe, and Asia. He performed on Korean and American TV and served 7 years in the White House Council on Environmental Quality. He will share the Prajna Paramita - The Great Wisdom that Goes Beyond. (And starts right where, when and who you are). . .

What is Dana? Teachers give the teachings of awakening (Dharma) freely so that anyone, no matter their financial means can attend classes. Each time one receives teachings, it is an opportunity to consciously practice generosity. Giving money and other means of support expresses gratitude and support to the teacher and helps to ensure that these teachings continue. Each person receiving Dharma teachings determines the kind and amount of Dāna according to one’s heart and one’s financial means. When deciding how much to offer, one should think about what these teachings mean to you and try to give accordingly. It is recommended that students make an offering of dāna at the beginning of a class or retreat to establish the intention to make the most of this opportunity for one’s own progression and for the benefit of all others.
Please note for this retreat all Dana will be divided between The Children of Tibet Charitable Trust https://childrenoftibet.org/impact and the Dharma Centre Renewal Fund https://www.dharmacentre.org/donate
