Father Charles Ogada - a Nigerian Christian mystic and Vedantist - dedicated and gave his life to transform the village of Ebe, Nigeria into ‘Joy Village’. Allowing love to be his guiding light, he brought his profound spiritual insight and love to Canada and other countries around the world multiple times. His teachings and life work inspire this extraordinary three day multi-faith retreat. Participants will have the opportunity to spend time in silence, contemplation and meditation, listen to recorded talks and Q+A’s with Father Charles Ogada, practice yoga, walk in the forest, canoe, and do experiential exercises to become aware of our timeless, ever-peaceful, ever-present, ever-loving Self. One day of the retreat will be in silence. Through direct experience we can develop faith in the Self and an inner affirmation that: “The ‘I’ in me can do anything!”

What is Dana?: Teachers share their time and wisdom freely so that anyone, no matter their financial means can attend classes. Each time one receives teachings, it is an opportunity to consciously practice generosity. Giving money and other means of support expresses gratitude and support to the teacher and helps to ensure that these teachings continue. Each person receiving Dharma teachings determines the kind and amount of Dāna according to one's heart and one’s financial means.
When deciding how much to offer, one should think about what these teachings mean to you and try to give accordingly. It is recommended that students make an offering of dāna at the beginning of a class or retreat to establish the intention to make the most of this opportunity for one’s own progression and for the benefit of all others.
PLEASE NOTE: Dana will go towards Father Charles' community in Nigeria.
Payment: Payment can be made to the Dharma Centre of Canada preferably by e-transfer at retreats@dharmacentre.org. Credit card or cheque are also accepted. Full payment is due 10 days prior to the start of a retreat or course. A 50% deposit is required to hold your space for an upcoming retreat.
