CALL FOR BOARD NOMINATIONS

Call for Board Nominations

The Dharma Centre of Canada is asking members to submit nominations for potential Board Members. At the AGM on May 2, 2021, seven vacancies on our 9-member Board of Directors will become vacant. The two-year terms of six of the 8 current and active board members (Shelane Donoghue, Monique Truax, Steven Gellman, Christine Wihak, David Berry and Chris von Baeyer) are ending. These six board members need to be formally re-nominated for re-election. Some may return for a one-year and others for a two-year term.  Two other board members – Patricia Steckley and Eva Gohl – are in the middle of a two-year term. Board members can sit on the Board of Directors for a maximum of a 5-year, consecutive term. There is currently one board seat unfilled. All nominations are welcome. 

Now is the time to make your voice heard.  Please make sure your membership and the person you are nominating has a current and up-to-date membership. If you are interested in being on the Board, want to serve on a Dharma Centre committee, or have any questions about the AGM and/or what being on the Board entails, then please contact the current DCC Board President: Shelane Donoghue at shelandonoghue@protonmail.com .  

If you want to nominate someone, then please send an email with the member’s name, your name and another member’s name (to second your nomination) to Shelane at the above email address. Please make sure the person you are nominating agrees with their nomination to the Board.  

This year we’re hoping to communicate a list of Board nominations to DCC Voting Members ahead of time so people can have an idea of who is running. Last-minute nominations to the Board will still be welcome on the day of the AGM.  

Please note: Once the current Board is elected at the AGM, this newly elected Board will meet together to vote on the different Offices, i.e. – President, Vice President, Treasurer, Chair Person, Secretary.
