The Dharma Centre is pleased to announce a Vipassana meditation retreat taught by the  Ven. Sayadaw U Vivekananda. Ven. Vivekananda is a resident teacher at Panditarama Lumbini International Vipassana Meditation Center in Lumbini, Nepal, Birthplace of the Buddha. He has taught Vipassana meditation and Brahmavihara meditation in the tradition of the Ven. Mahasi Sayadaw since 1999 at Panditarama Lumbini. Every year since 2000, he has traveled internationally to lead Vipassanā retreats in centres in Canada, the United States, Europe, Australia and Israel.

Ven. Sayadaw U Vivekananda has trained under the Ven. Sayadaw U Panditabhivamsa of Myanmar since 1988. Ven. Vivekananda is a resident teacher at Panditarama Lumbini International Vipassana Meditation Center in Lumbini, Nepal, Birthplace of the Buddha. He has taught Vipassana meditation and Brahmavihara meditation in the tradition of the Ven. Mahasi Sayadaw since 1999 at Panditarama Lumbini where many hundreds of people from around the world have come to train. Every year since 2000, he has travelled internationally to lead Vipassanā retreats in centres in Canada, the United States, Europe, Australia and Israel. He is fluent in English, German, French, and Burmese. Ven. Vivekananda guides meditators in a precise and encouraging manner.

Dharma Centre of Canada members are reminded that the Ven. Sayadaw U Panditabhivamsa succeeded the Venerable Mahasi Sayadaw as the lineage holder of the Mahasi style of vipassana meditative practice. Ven. Ananda Bodhi (later Namgyal Rinpoche), DCC founder, trained under Mahasi Sayadaw.
